Let the adventure begin…

Hi there. Allow me to introduce myself to you. My name is Jessica Cauller, and I’m a 28-year-old communications professional. After six years in the for-profit business world, I’m diving headfirst into a full-time nonprofit adventure.

My adventure has a lot of unknowns, but here’s what I know for sure so far. I will be working as the director of 18 South Youth Center in Red Lion, Pa. I’ll be splitting my time between running the center and working as the director of community development for PTC Youth Services, the nonprofit that owns the youth center.

Basically, I’m trading in my shiny, laid-back, well-paying job for an uncertain future. Why? Because it’s what the Lord is asking me to do, and because I couldn’t imagine a more exciting or gratifying way to spend my life.

I hope to openly and honestly share my experiences with you here as I take off on this new and exciting journey. From wresting with the emotions of teens to pounding the pavement in search of financial support for a nonprofit in the midst of a seemingly never-ending recession, I expect no shortages of challenges and interesting stories to share.
