Recycled Tire Garden Beautifies 18 South Entrance

The entrance to 18 South Youth Center has been colorfully and fragrantly enhanced thanks to the generosity of the local Red Lion, Pa., community. During the months of June and July of this year, volunteers from Bethany United Methodist Church’s youth group joined forces with staff and teens from 18 South to create a recycled tire garden surrounding the entrance to the youth center.

Generosity was the theme of this project as three local businesses chipped in to donate the materials required: The Landscape Company & Nursery in Red Lion donated the flowers and a couple bags of soil; Rick’s Home Center in Red Lion donated a load of soil; and Brooks-Huff Tire & Auto Center on Queen Street in York donated the tires. The cost for the spray paint was covered by volunteers from Bethany United Methodist Church.

A special thanks to everyone who contributed to this project!
