Red Lion Street Fair Draws 100+ to 18 South

With the help of a slew of incredibly helpful volunteers, 18 South Youth Center was able to to raise nearly $700 while pulling off another successful round of events at the annual Red Lion Street Fair on Aug. 10, 2013.

We mixed things up this time around by raffling off a basketball hoop that was donated to the center earlier in the year. The raffle ended up bringing in about $150 to support our youth center, all while putting a smile on the faces of our happy raffle winners. Our big money maker each year, without fail, is the dunk tank, which brought in more than $550 this year! Many thanks to every volunteer who took the time to make these fundraisers successful and fun!

We also were blessed by a myriad of helpers (from churches to mentors to middle school guidance counselors) who donated all of the materials needed to distribute 100 free lunches to the public in an effort to invite new faces into the youth center and help raise awareness of 18 South. Thanks so much to everyone who generously donated everything we needed! The center was packed for most of the day as kids who are not yet old enough to attend on an open door night had fun enjoying the games, while many teens discovered 18 South for the first time. What a wonderful day!
