Cooking Class Launches at 18 South

More than a dozen teens were schooled on the specifics of making pizza from scratch at 18 South Youth Center on Thursday, Jan. 16, thanks to the generosity and expertise of Chef Dani Sanders, owner of the Red Brick Bakery & Tea Room in Red Lion, Pa. From mixing together the dough and the sauce to chopping up the toppings and putting everything together, Chef Dani truly showed the youth the ropes of the art of pizza making. By the end of the night, everyone went home with their bellies full of warm, delicious homemade pizza.

18 South and Red Brick Bakery hope to partner together every other month to offer a Cooking Class to the teens that frequent the youth center. Next up on March 20 is a Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo cooking class, where youth will be taught how to make Alfredo sauce from scratch and have a taste of real homemade noodles.

A special thanks goes out to Chef Dani for generously donating her time and talents to bless the teens at 18 South. Props are also due to Sam’s Club in East York and Giant in Red Lion for providing gift cards to cover the cost of ingredients for our first Cooking Class!
