Eagle Scout Project Revamps 18 South

Gerald “Mac” MacDonald III from Boy Scout Troop 43 in Dallastown, Pa., recently chose 18 South Youth Center in Red Lion, Pa., as the focus of his Eagle Scout project, which was completed on July 4, 2015.

Mac and his crew of volunteers began by giving the interior of 18 South a complete makeover by patching up all the holes and scratches in the walls before repainting the entire first floor. A power washer was used to clean up the white siding outside, while helpers diligently pulled weeds in the landscaping out front. But the shining star of this project was the installation of bright orange window shutters to the exterior of the youth center’s building.

We are so incredibly grateful to Mac and his fellow Boy Scouts for all of the hard work they put into giving 18 South Youth Center a facelift. In particular, the orange shutters help our building stand out from the rest while adding a charming and inviting appearance. Thanks so much to the Boy Scouts for their hard work and generosity!
